GE’s Industrial Solutions business is the first major electrical distribution manufacturer to be recognized by IDEA for outstanding compliance with its Data Certification Program
, a measure of the quality and completeness of data available to support e-commerce activities.
IDEA, the electrical industry’s official technology service provider and eBusiness standards body, designed the certification program to assess manufacturer data within the Industry Data Warehouse (IDW)
, a leading ecommerce resource for U.S. and Canadian distributors.
“Our distribution channel partners do a great job of promoting GE products and solutions in the marketplace. The enhanced data we have implemented in IDW will accelerate this success,” said Michael Fellers, North America marketing leader for GE’s Industrial Solutions business.
Industrial Solutions earned distinction as a 2015 IDW-Compliant Manufacturer by demonstrating data robustness across 95 percent or more of its product catalog. The business achieved this through a dedicated team effort in reviewing and enhancing data for 43 critical fields for each product from imagery and descriptions to specification sheets – a total of more than 1.3 million data points.
“Our dedication to achieving compliance with stringent IDEA data standards reflects part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our customers’ experience in doing business with GE,” said Gary Arnott, general manager – North America, Industrial Solutions. “We’re continuing to invest in providing our customers the resources, tools and training needed to support their success in the marketplace.”
